Centre for Ethics and Poverty Research

Tagung für Praktische Philosophie

The Centre for Ethics and Poverty Research (CEPR) together with the Department for Philosophy organizes an annual Tagung für Praktische Philosophie [Conference for Practical Philosophy] since 2013. This conference is open to all areas in practical philosophy and related disciplines and brings together colleagues at all career stages. This conference is now the biggest event of its kind for the German-speaking philosophical community with about 100 talks. The conference is held at the University of Salzburg each year at the end of September (every third year in Mid-November). In 2019 the Tagung will be held on 26 and 27 September with plenary talks by Christoph Horn (Bonn) and Kirsten Meyer (Berlin).

Invited plenary speakers have been Peter Koller (Graz) (in 2013), Kurt Bayertz (Munster) and Heiner Bielefeldt (Nuremberg) (in 2014), Corinna Mieth (Bochum) and Monika Betzler (Munich) (in 2015), Elif Özmen (Giessen) and Peter Schaber (Zurich) (in 2016), Thomas Schramme (Liverpool) and Véronique Zanetti (Bielefeld) (in 2017), Elisabeth Holzleithner (Vienna) and Ralf Stoecker (Bielefeld) (in 2018).
